Les Pedreres es un proyecto de investigación y creación artística que indaga sobre los vestigios históricos y arquitectónicos de la ciudad de Girona. Situando la mirada sobre el barrio de Les Pedreres puntualmente en el Fuerte de los Capuchinos (1707) con el Polvorín (1924), el Cuerpo de Guardia (1756) y el antiguo Polvorín (1770).
Estas construcciones, con un importante valor patrimonial como testimonio de diferentes momentos históricos de la ciudad, forman parte de un conjunto más amplio de fortalezas y murallas a lo largo del territorio. Un sistema de defensas en el centro y en la periferia de la ciudad de Girona.
La superposición de acontecimientos históricos en estos edificios, destruidos, ampliados, modificados, reutilizados y finalmente abandonados, nos hablan de una sucesión de capas temporales. El proyecto intentará desvelarlas y registrarlas a partir de la memoria almacenada en las superficies de sus muros. Un reflejo del carácter particular de su entorno y del paisaje que lo envuelve.
The Quarrys
The Quarrys is a research and artistic creation project that inquires on the historical and architectural remains of the city of Girona. Placing the gaze on the neighborhood of Les Pedreres, specifically on the Fort of the Capuchins (1707) with the Powder Keg (1924), the Guard Corps (1756) and the Old Powder Keg (1770).
These constructions, with an important patrimonial value as a testimony of different historical moments of the city, are part of a larger set of fortresses and walls spreaded throughout the territory. A system of defenses in the center and outskirts of the city of Girona.
The superposition of historical events in these destroyed, enlarged, modified, reused and finally abandoned buildings, speak of a succession of temporal layers. The project will try to unveil and record them from the memory stored on the surfaces of its walls. A reflection of the peculiar character of its environment and the landscape that surrounds it.
Intervención sobre el paisaje – bailando a ciegas con una puerta
Pensar y bailar son formas de relación con lo otro. De esa relación nacerá el lenguaje.
